About Annatations*

In Annatations*, I publish essays on gender, technology, and culture from an abolitionist, transfeminist lens. I also share my thoughts on college education, since that's my current research direction. I explain the asterisk and general philosophy of my newsletter here, but essentially, I'm annotating–"giving notes"–as I would to any student. And my name is Anna. Get it?

About Dr. Anna Marie LaChance

I'm a lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at UMass Amherst. I'm also a trans woman with a long history of activism and community engagement. Learn more about me on my main website: www.ThatAnnaMarie.com

Note: The views I express here are my own and do not reflect the views of my employer.

Membership Tiers

Free members get a monthly digest of things I've been reading, watching, and listening to. They'll also get occasional free resources, such as my teaching activity on the environmental impact of data centers or my scaffolded list of ways to support the trans community.

Paying members get all of this, plus access to paywalled essays on gender, technology, and culture. You can choose between two membership levels; both get you the same thing, but you get to choose how much money you give me.

If you can't commit to a monthly/yearly fee, you can also make a one-time donation here. Your support means a lot!
