Exiting Survival Mode
On 7 years of transition.
I’ve lived much of my life in fight-or-flight. This was kicked into overdrive on October 27th, 2017, the day I came out to myself as trans; since then, everything from workplace discrimination to finding housing to interpersonal relationships have been a struggle. Until recently, my entire transition has had me in survival mode, always feeling like the floor was going to drop out from under me at any moment.
Luckily, seven years into this project, things are starting to turn around.
